Safety Concerns on Bethel Burley Rd SE
Sign the petition to make Bethel Burley Rd SE safer for our community.
The Burley Library Association is focused on helping to create a safe community. Addressing this area of road on Bethel Burley Rd SE, from SE Pine Rd to Burley Ave SE, is key reducing collisions and possible fatalities.
Just in the last four years, we have had 34 collisions in this area with 2 fatalities. This is a high traffic area with bending curves, limited sight distance and poor lighting. Many people stop at the Burley Store and the access is precarious going in and out of the parking area onto Bethel Burley Rd SE. Many people also access the Burley Post Office and Burley Community Hall, so there is a lot of coming and going of community members.
People run, walk and ride their bikes in this area, but it isn’t safe. We do not want to lose any more precious lives in this area. Let’s see what we can do to improve our safety by requesting safety updates to this area from Kitsap County Public Works Department.
Currently Kitsap County is working on their already approved 6 year 2024 Kitsap County Comprehensive Safety Plan, but this stretch of road is not included in their study. If this is important to you, please sign this petition that we can present to the Board of Commissioners to add to their safety plan.
Thank you!

Burley Community Hall Holiday Celebration/Fundraiser
Holiday Fun! Thank you everyone!
Wow! We had an amazing turnout last Saturday for this fun event. Our community came out in full force to support the hall and have fun! We enjoyed the music of the Waybacks and Half Measures, ate a ton of wonderful food everyone brought to share, and handed out some really fun donated gift baskets and fresh swags and wreaths. Santa and Mrs. Clause also showed up!!!! A good time was had by all and we are so proud to be part of the Burley community. Through cash donations, GoFundMe and direct donations on our website, we have managed to raise around $2000 for our future roof replacement! We will be continuing to collect donations for this major work throughout the year. If you would like to donate, please visit our GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/a3edb145 or you can donated through out donate button on our website - https://www.burleyassociation.org.

Trick or Treat Night fun
Great turnout at our first ever trick or trick night at Burley Community Center!
We had a fun turnout to our first Halloween event at the Burley Community Hall. The weather wasn’t great, but we were all cozy inside and parents and kids were able to color spooky pictures, listen to music and fill their baskets with an assortment of candies and other goodies. We will definitely do this next year and may even turn it into a little haunted house (not too scary…).
